Mauldin Road at Lake Conestee Nature Park - New Home of GLL
Mayberry Park - Juniors Division - 2009-2011
Greenville Little League's former "home" ballpark was Timmons Park. It meets all the regulations on field size and dugout safety required by the national Little League organization. Until Spring 2009, we had to play all our games on a single field at Timmons Park as it was the only ballpark within our designated local Little League territory that meets Little League requirements In 2009, we added Butler Springs Park with its two Little League-sanctioned fields and played games there as well as Timmons
In 2009 we started a Juniors Divison for players 13-14 years old. These games are played on regulation-sized fields (60ft 6 in pitching distance, 90 ft basepaths) like those used in middle-school, high-school, colleges and majors leagues. Home field for our Juniors Divison in 2009 thru 2011 was Mayberry Park.
We were excited to learn in 2008 that in 2011, Greenville Little League wiould receive a brand New Home of GLL at Lake Conestee Nature Park at the old Greenville Braves ballpark on Mauldin Road. We thank the City, County and the Recreation Districts for this exciting new development. We began playing GLL games there in our Fall 2011 season and begining with Spring 2012 it wll be our primary home complex. You can visit our new ballpark blog to learn more and follow construction progress.
We use other fields however for practices. With so many teams and players - we have some 21 teams and 300 players - finding enough fields and time slots for practices is a challenge. Coaches request fields through the League and these are allocated as evenly as possible across all teams. We really need more fields - if your church, school or other group has a ball field that you can share occassionally with Greenville Little League, please let your coach know!
