  Guests at Greenville Drive - 2012 Hot Stove League!  

     Several GLL players and friends were guests at the Greenville Drive Hot Stove League along with new Boston Red Sox Manager Bobby Valentine and former Gamecock and Sox signee Jackie Bradley Jr from the 2010 and 2011 College World Series Champions !

Below, Bobby Valentine greets Mr. and Mrs. Reeves, grandparents of 2004-2011 GLL alum Bryce Reeves.   Bobby's first manager in professional baseball was Bryce's great-uncle Tommy Lasorda of the Dodgers.   Tommy's wife, Jo Lasorda, is a Greenville native and Mrs. Reeve's sister.   The sisters let Bobby know that Greenville is the best baseball city in the US!:

GLL Coach and Alumni to be part of Big League World Series !!!
 
The Big League World Series will be 7/26 - 8/3 in Easley and the Greenville County / District 7 team that will be competing for a Series berth will include players and a coach with GLL connections.   JL Mann, which went 18-6 last season and was runner-up to state runner-up Byrnes in Region 2-AAAA, will be represented by Bo Thompson, J.R. Black, Brady Hegwood, Danny Joyner and Matt Peden.   Greenville High has two players chosen: Miguel Vierra and Glenn Batson.  Head Coach Jeff Young will be assisted by  Michael Spiers of Greenville Little League.  Danny, Glen and Miguel are former GLL players and Spiers is a long-time GLL Coach and Board Member!
