IMPORTANT SAFETY ALERT !!
Two younger siblings of one of our players were hit by a car in the Timmons parking
lot Tuesday (5/19) before the Coaches Pitch game. They are OK and we wish them
and the entire Schuster family all the best as they recover from their bumps and
bruises.
The Schusters want to thank all the GLL families for their expressions of concern
and to thank Coach Kemp for all his help and his visit to the hospital Tuesday
to check up on Kayla and Alex.
We ask everyone to PLEASE watch out for our children and other fans in the parking
lots at both Timmons and Butler Springs. These are busy places, especially before
and after games, and in the rush and excitement surrounding the games such accidents
can happen. Please be cautious by walking your children and others to the field
and to the car AND when driving into, parking, and leaving the parking lots.
Let's be safe... both on and off the field!!
The Schusters wanted us to share this note:
"I first and foremost would like to take a moment to thank the GLL for caring
so much for our family. It is important for you to know that. It is now day
three, and Kayla, 4, is doing a lot better, her scraps are all being medicated
and she is on medication. She did receive the worst end of it. But though it
has only been a couple days, she is getting better and tomorrow is going to go
to school for her last day (end of the year). Alex, 3, had/has scrapes on his
upper torso, arms, legs, and face. But like Kayla, he is also being medicated,
all to be expected I guess. John, my husband, he is just fine, when asked he
says that everything just happened so fast there was no time to even concentrate
on what was going on, just reacted.
I just want people to know, and be aware of their surroundings!!!!!!! This could
have been a lot worse. I am just glad that it wasn't and I am very grateful that
everyone was there to make sure that my children were taken care of.
Thank you again for all that GLL has done, and Mark thanks so much for taking
the time to come and see us at the hospital."
Sincerely
Melissa Schuster
