Getting the most out of GameChanger app

When it comes to running a league the size of Greenville Little League, there are lots of systems in place to make sure that we can manage schedules and communicate effectively with our families. One of the most important of those systems is GameChanger. If you aren't yet using it, you should be. To help articulate WHY, and to help you get the most out of the app, we've prepared some information to help you.

First, make sure you have the right app. When downloading GameChanger, make sure you download the one with the GREEN logo or icon. The WHITE GameChanger app that many of you use to follow other sports teams is NOT integrated with GLL or Little League International systems.

Login to the GC app using the same email address that you use to login to https://www.greenvillelittleleague.com. That email address has the association with your player(s)' information, including their team roster and schedule.

When logged in you should see your GLL team(s) listed automatically. Clicking on any of your teams will take you to its page within GC, displaying that team's schedule, roster, stats, etc.

From your team schedule, you can click on any event to see details of that event, and perform some very important tasks:
a) Are you going? Click the Going or Not Going button to indicate your player's availability for that event. This helps the staff know who is going to be at each event, which is obviously critically important for games.
b) Score Game - If you are the designated score keeper for your team, you can score the game inside the GC app. Don't see the "Score Game" button? You must be designated as a member of the volunteer staff of your team in order to score the game. Contact your coach, or GLL Admin to be added.
c) Go Live - Scorekeepers (see above) also have the option to "Go Live", creating a video live-stream of their game for family members to view. You can't do "Go Live" and "Score Game" on the same device, so you will need to login to the app on multiple devices if you plan to do both.

For those of you who have experience with GameChanger's previous apps, there are a couple of "gotchas". Most notably, your opponent can't see what you're doing, or vice versa. As a result, if you are keeping score for a GLL game in GC, your opponent's roster will need to be created from scratch. There is no option to import their roster. Also, your opponent's family members will not be able to follow-along as you keep score. That is limited to members of your team's family only. The end result is that they will need to keep score themselves in the app if they want their family to benefit. And the last noteworthy "gotcha" is that game results scored in the GC are not automatically reflected on the GLL website. Coaches will still need to login to the GLL site to record the final score and pitch counts of their game.

We strongly recommend that you download the app and start using it!

Parents and staff, if you do NOT see your team listed upon logging on, please contact Game Changer support at [email protected]. They respond very quickly and will get you taken care of. Please do not create your own team, since that team will not get any schedule or roster updates from GLL.
