Safety Precaution List

As the home of over 900 youth baseball and softball players, Greenville Little League recognizes their role in the health and safety of its participants, family, and staff.  We have prepared the following outline of precautions that we are taking for the upcoming season to meet that responsibility.  Please note that we have taken into account the guidelines and recommendations of health organizations, local government, and any requirements of the owners of our fields.

As changes in our requirements or optional precautions are rolled out, this page will be updated.

On-the-field
  • Game & Practice Schedules will be adjusted to accommodate a 20 minute buffer between events to allow coaches and officials to properly sanitize dugouts.  On game nights, players are asked to NOT enter the park until 10 minutes prior to the game.  They will report immediately to their field and go to the outfield for warm ups.
  • Dugouts / player seating will be extended into the bullpens to allow for proper social distancing.  Players are encouraged to bring a folding chair into the bullpen if they do not wish to use the dugout benches.  Hand sanitizer will be provided and placed in each dugout.
  • No sharing of any equipment.  Batting helmets will be provided to those without one for the entire season.  Several sets of catching equipment will be distributed on a nightly basis to ensure no one is sharing nightly.  All such equipment will be sanitized after use.
  • Players will not participate in post-game handshakes/high-fives with the opposing team.
  • We ask coaches, umpires, and players to wear a mask while entering and exiting parks.
  • We ask coaches and umpires to wear masks during play.  Players will not be asked to wear masks during play.
  • Coaches and Umpires will be educated on all of the protocols prior to first practice/games.

Off-the-field
  • We ask families to limit the number of spectators to 2 per player.
  • If a player, coach, or parent tests positive for COVID, parents are required to contact coach and remove player from all team activities immediately.  Player will remain unable to return to team activities until medically cleared, quarantine time has been met, and no further symptoms are present.
  • Refund Policy:  In the event GCRD, LL District Administrator, or the State mandates us to cancel our Fall season we will use the following refund policy.  Full refund will be offered if the season is cancelled before uniforms and field leases have been paid.  A Pro-Rata refund will be offered if the season is cancelled after games have begun or after main expense have been paid.  No refunds will be offered to players / parents who miss games due to contracting virus.
